Korg PadKontrol Setup without Editor Librarian

Has anyone ever set up the Korg PadKontrol without Editor Librarian? I was hoping to use the presets on the Xpresspads website, but Editor Librarian isn’t supported by my OS (Big Sur). I’m using the controller with GarageBand right now, but having a hard time figuring out how to actually see the mapping of keys to drums…

Hi, that's interesting. The PadKontrol has been around for quite a while and certainly not the most vogue pad controller anymore, so that Korg didn't put in the effort to update the editor for newer OS versions. Sorry to read that. And to answer your question, I haven't ever tried to configure the PadKontrol manually without the editor. Certainly not as comfortable as using the editor software. Best advice I can give is to check the user manual for the manual configuring routines. Fingers crossed.

Ahh okay, let me look at the manual. Can I recommend that it be removed as a “recommended setup” from the xpresspads website? I bought it purely because it was recommended :/

Do you have access to another (maybe Windows) computer where you could install the editor and that way load the presets for the PadKontrol onto your device?
