AKAI MPD218 to iPad?

Hey I have a focus rite docking station for my ipad pro and was wondering if you are able to use it with the ipad. I know the 218 would typically work as just a midi, but do you think it would still have the touch sensitivity/velocity with most samples? That is my only concern in purchasing. Any help would be a huge help. Thanks for your time as its greatly appreciated!

Regards,

Hi [name removed],

Thanks for getting in touch.

Although I don’t have an iPad, I strongly believe that (if the MPD218 works with the iPad) the touch sensitivity and different velocity levels won’t be lost, compared to using the MPD218 with a PC or Mac. If the software you intend to use on your iPad supports velocity sensitivity then it should work.

Hope this helps.

Best regards

Andreas
