Does the Korg PadKontrol need an audio interface?

I just bought a Korg PadKontrol and can’t figure out whether it has an in-built audio interface for fast processing or whether I need to get an incremental one like:

(Also I’m on a macbook pro)

Hi, the Korg PadKontrol is a generic midi controller without an in-built audio interface. If you're serious about music-making on your Mac, you should consider buying an audio interface too. BR, Andreas
