[This question was asked by a customer via email] Your advanced lessons feature a two-pad setup. Do you think that the pads on an Ableton Push are too small or too close together for your two-handed techniques? (I also have a MPD218 for my portable 1-pad setup.) Marked as spam

I actually bought the Ableton Push to use it for my two-handed finger drumming techniques as I think that the pads on it are perfectly suitable for it. Great pad sensitivity and the size and placement of the pads is quite right for finger drumming. Unfortunately Push does not let you configure the Xtreme layout. I also tried the “midi-hack”, overwriting some system files but Push’s layout system is not suited for my layout. I’ve tried a couple of things but eventually stopped testing. Maybe there is a way to do it, but I haven’t figured out how to. Marked as spam

I may have good news for you regarding Push. If I understand correctly, Live now features an alternate mode to play from all 64 pads of Drum Rack at once. I have not tested this, but I believe that you should be able to set up a full 8×8 Drum Rack array for Push. Great tip regarding Push! – I will definitively have a closer look at the link you sent me. I noticed that they came up with a 64 pad drum layout with a recent update, but I quickly checked it and didn’t find it was the exact thing I was looking for. Maybe I really need to have a second – more in-depth – look. Marked as spam
