Hi […]! Unfortunately Ableton Push is not suitable for finger drumming with the XpressPads technique since it comes with hard-wired MIDI mappings.

Yes, if Ableton Push could be configured to run with the custom midi mapping that is required for the XpressPads technique, then you could use it for finger drumming.

Please keep in mind that I wasn’t able to configure Ableton Push to work with the XpressPads technique. The device is cool and has great pads, but it does not like customization.

Basically yes, but I tested Livid Base 1 for finger drumming and didn’t like it since the pads are small and don’t reach above the surface of the housing of the device.

A very good and inexpensive pad controller for finger drumming is the Akai MPD218. It only costs 99 dollars but has great pads.
